Welcome to the City of Montesano, incorporated on November 26, 1883, and the county seat for Grays Harbor County. Montesano thrives as a hub for outdoor activities, including mountain biking, fishing, hiking, kayaking, boating, and bird watching. We enjoy our coffee here and you can wander many of our local business in the downtown corridor where the city has free Wi-Fi for your convenience.

Miles of trails for hiking and biking in the City forest. Access it through Lake Sylvia State Park, a gem of its own. Lake Sylvia offers kayaking, camping, picnics, playground, swimming and nature trails and fishing.
3 Rivers meet in Montesano. The Wynochee, the Chehalis and the Satsop. You can put your boat in on the Chehalis River at the Boat launch in South Montesano or at Friend’s Landing.

Montesano Annual Events

Over 200 street rods, antiques, muscle cars, and special-interest vehicles of all kinds will roll into town to show off and support local charities. The show is presented by a group of volunteers and all proceeds are donated to the Montesano Food Bank and several other charitable organizations.
It’s free for spectators and will include a swap meet, vendors, food, door prizes for participants, over 40 awards, tours of the 1911 Grays Harbor County Courthouse, live music, kids' games, and lots more.
It starts at 8 am and concludes with a cruise through Montesano and scenic Lake Sylvia State Park.

Catch Montesano: Fish & Brew Fest consists of a beer fest featuring local craft beer and wine, live music, vendors, and a corn hole tournament!
The Friends of Schafer and Lake Sylvia (FOSLS) invite the public to the 6th Annual Discover Lake Sylvia Fall Festival at Lake Sylvia State Park in Montesano.

Highlights of the festival include singing Christmas carols, a Jingle Bell Jog, a Santa Pancake Breakfast, craft fair, scavenger hunt, and of course, a lighted holiday parade with floats, marching bands and logging trucks, fire engines and other vehicles bedazzled with thousands of colorful lights.
