The City is conducting a street reconstruction project on E. Marcy from Sylvia Street to Church
Street and on Church Street from E. Pioneer to Crass Court. The City will also be completed
some street repair work on Crass Court during this project. The project was awarded to South
Sound Contractor and work will begin during the last week of June 2019. The project is
expected to be substantially complete by the middle of September. Traffic in this project area
will be limited to local access only during working hours.
Why is the City Repairing this Section of W. Broadway?
The pavement is old and the driving surface is beginning to fail in several areas. Storm
drainage needs to be upgraded to address many areas with local flooding issues and curb
ramps need to be updated to meet ADA requirements.
The End Result
Pavement and sidewalks along Marcy Avenue form Silvia Street to Church Street will be

Timeline (subject to changes and updates)
Water main improvements were already completed by the City Public Works crew in
June of 2019.
Storm Drain work will be conducted July of 2019.
Sidewalk work will be conducted in July and August of 2019.
Final Paving and striping will be conducted in Early September.
This project is funded by a $414,000 grant from Washington State Transportation
Improvement Board (TIB) and $76,000 combined from the City’s General Fund, Storm Water
Fund and Water Fund.
